Postdoc Speaker Series
- Starting fall semester – date TBA
- 2 speakers per session, 30-minute professional research talks
- 1 internal and 1 external speaker per session – we already have some contacts
We are searching for volunteers for speakers!
- Great opportunity for anyone interested in presenting their research and/or practicing an academic job talk
SPUR Symposium Judging
- The PDA will be coordinating judging for the SPUR Symposium poster competition on August 2nd
- Research symposium for undergraduates, including spoken & poster presentations
We are searching for volunteers!
- Volunteers – we need 1 additional volunteer to coordinate judging efforts, and as many volunteer judges as we can get (from the PDA or otherwise)
- Let us know if your interested! Judging sign-up sheet will be circulated later in the summer
Other Initiatives
UTDPDA as an Employee Resource Group
- Paperwork is submitted and is moving its way through admin
- We’ve received verbal conformation that we’ll likely be approved – we’re waiting for the official approval
- Will provide yearly funds for events & a donation account with office of budget and finance.
Efforts towards travel funding
- We’re preparing a travel funding proposal for the Office of Research
- Proposing a matched funds model
